O’Brien’s Tower Ticket Prices
Ticket price includes access to the rooftop area that offers the best photo opportunity of the Cliffs and a souvenir historical information leaflet with a place name map of the Cliff area. The tower is capacity controlled and may be closed due to weather or private booking. Opening hours of the tower vary – please check on arrival for todays opening hours.

Frank McCourt Museum
When the young Frank Mc Court attended this Irish school, little did he know one day he would win the Pulizer Prize - the most prestigious international literary award. Neither was he to imagine that the very classroom in which he sat in Limerick, would go on to become the Frank McCourt Museum – attracting visitors from all around the world. This is a museum dedicated to the writer, Frank McCourt, most famous for, ‘Angela’s Ashes’, his memoir of his childhood in Limerick. This tudor-style, listed building, ‘Leamy’s School’, was where Frank and his brothers received their early education. Call to this great museum and experience the world of ‘Angela’s Ashes.’

St. Marys Cathedral
The Cathedral of Saint Mary Blessed Virgin has had a long and eventful history. It was founded in 1168 on the site of a palace donated by Donal Mor O’Brien King of Munster. Experts believe that parts of the palace are incorporated into the present structure of the Cathedral.

The most prominent is the West Door which tradition has it was the main entrance to the palace. The palace had been built on the site of the Viking meeting house. This had been the centre of government in the early medieval Viking city.

King John’s Castle and the Treaty Stone
The development of King John’s Castle is designed to deliver a modern visitor experience with a dramatic history and over 800 years of stories within its walls, which will be all brought to life in a stunning new exhibition. Touch-screen technology will connect visitors to tales of siege and warfare. A dazzling array of CGI animations and ghostly projections will be part of the experience. The Treaty Stone is the rock on which the Treaty of Limerick was said to be signed by William of Orange and put an end to the Siege of Limerick in 1691, in full view of the garrison in King John’s Castle located directly across the river from where the Stone is now on display.

Bunratty Castle & Folk Park
Bunratty Castle is one of Europe’s finest. Here you are invited to explore two wonderful experiences – the acclaimed 15th century Bunratty Castle and 19th century Bunratty Folk Park. The Castle is the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. Built in 1425 it was restored in 1954 to its former medieval splendour.

The Flying Boat Museum
Situated in the port town of Foynes in County Limerick is the location of the first headquarters for aviation in Ireland. The terminal was in operation from 1937-1945 and the museum is located in the original terminal building today. There were a number of different flying boats which would land on the Shannon River in Foynes with mainly passengers and mail.

The Flying Boats were used to transport passengers across the Atlantic from American to Europe with Foynes being the nearest landing destination in Europe. Many rich, famous and powerful people passed through Foynes such as John F. Kennedy, Ernest Hemingway, Crown Price of Saudi Arabia, Grace Fields & Humphrey Bogart.

Today the museum has the only replica in the world of a Boeing 314; of which no original remain intact.

Limerick Greyhound Stadium
The Irish Greyhound Board relocated the Greyhound stadium to a new site, just off the dock road and it a magnificent structure on the skyline of Limerick.

We are very passionate about our Smoked Salmon. That is why we give 45 minute presentations about how we traditionally oak smoke our Salmon.

Our packages can be tailored to your needs. Also, we do not have set times for our presentations so time-wise we are flexible (existing bookings permitting).

We can also organise talks in situ about either the Burren Smokehouse or the Burren and its unique situation.

This package is limited to up to 6 pax at a time. Time scheduled: 2 hours. The groups will be guided by the owners of the Burren Smokehouse and the Roadside Tavern, Birgitta and Peter Curtin.

The Roadside Tavern
Our family-owned quaint pub-restaurant, “The Roadside Tavern”, is 150m away from the Visitor Centre. It is one of the oldest pubs in Clare, and renowned for serving excellent food. The menu samples our smoked salmon products. As an added bonus, we serve our own micro-brewery beer brewed on the premises: we have on offer Ale, Lager or Stout from our Burren Brewery.

There are 2- and 3-course lunches available. Our sample menu:

The Roadside Tavern has been brewing since 2011 in its own microbrewery The Burren Brewery. We are now offering a tasting of our 3 brews, Burren Gold, Burren Red and Burren Black followed by a glass of your favourite.

St. Tola Organic Goats Cheese
Inagh Farmhouse Cheese is a 100% Irish owned Organic Goat Farm producing award winning St Tola Goat Cheese! We offer tours to groups of all sizes and ages and tours are available year round.

Tours include:

  • Guided tour of the organic farm
  • Talk on organics and their importance in farming
  • Demonstration on cheese making
  • Full tasting of all our award winning, gourmet cheeses

While it is not possible to bring tours into the cheese making plant, there is an opportunity to see work in progress through our viewing windows.

Location
We are located in north Co Clare, half an hour from the Cliffs of Moher and Dysert O’Dea archaeological site. The farm is one mile from the main N85 Ennis to Ennistymon road with plenty room for parking. The area is rich in cultural tourist attractions and the tour can easily be incorporated into a tour of North Clare, the Burren and its sites.
